Patrick,
I had my mitral valve replaced (minimal invasive). The procedure was july 29th.
My incision is under the right breast. The area was numb for a while. I do have some tingling in that area along with partial numbness. (It feels like when you have novacaine at the dentist for dental work, and the feeling as it wears off. )Also have same feeling in area where the heart lung machine was inserted. The nerves are very disturbed during the surgery. It is my understanding that this may go away.Possibly may not.
I would ask your physician about it. Especially being that you described as pain.
Please donot over do it. I went back to work too early, and my body screamed!
Patrick Kennedy thanks mary. I'm trying to take it easy, it's not really in my nature...

Nancy D I, like Mary had minimally invasive Mitral valve replacement on Aug 20th 2014. My incision is along the right side of the right breast. I too have had the nerve tingling and numbness in the right chest and also where the heart bypass was connected. Nerves take up to and after a year to regenerate, and while it is much better, I am still hoping for continued improvement. It does get easier and better, and less sensitive, for sure! Hang in there, and ask your provider about it.
