Robert! So good to hear from you. David and I are quite well! Getting stronger every day. My heart is strong and healthy and I'm feeling great. I graduated cardia rehab 2 weeks ago and I'm continuing on with physical therapy twice a week, but no longer need my cane and am getting as close to normal as possible. I hope YOU are doing well.

Robert Osmachenko So nice to hear and I'm so glad you are making it. Except for the odd pain in a strange place, my team put me back together pretty well. I'm going on two years in August.
Always thinking about you, heart sister.

Hi Robert, I was going through some of my guestbook comments and I'm not sure if I responded to you about the nerve block. This nerve block is used with thoracotomy patients that may require more freezing around the nerves around the ribcage area. It allows you to take the deep breathes for the lungs without pain and allows the body to not feel as much or no pain around the surgery area for 2-3 days after surgery. I felt it helped me but I have no comparison as to how much it did. I probably would have it done again if needed.
It does add to your operating time because they sometimes start it before the surgery or in my case it was done while I was still out in the recovery area. Lynne

Happy Anniversary my dear Heart Brother. I can hardly believe that it's been one year already since you entered that new chapter in your life's journey and received your new valve. One year later and I am happy to have been privileged enough to come along for the ride and enjoyed learning about your progress along the way. But most of all, when all is said and done, I am happy to know that you are breathing well and that your heart pumps happily once again. The extra bonus for me is that at the end of the day, I made a wonderful friend. So Mr. Chairman, congratulations on your one year anniversary and like it or not you are now stuck with me because I will value your friendship for many years to come. Enjoy your day! ~Karen

Robert Osmachenko Thanks Adam and thanks Gerald. I'm doing pretty well and back to my old self. Eating well, taking my meds and minerals plus lots of exercise.
Hopefully, it will be 15+ years before I have to face this again.
Be well.

Hello Robert, Thanks for the note. I'm doing well, my recovery has been much better than last time. I'm at week 10 and I've been riding my bike around with the kids and also to the gym. I workout 6 days a week (3 days weights and 3 days cardio), I just started swimming yesterday so I'm looking forward to being able to do more of that. Right now I'm just waiting for another echo to determine my ejection fraction and see if the medication and recover has improved my numbers. I'll find that out in May.
How have you been?
Take care,
Jason

Thanks for taking the time to write me. Before surgery I worked out regularly and ran daily. Since the surgery i have got back into it, but as soon as I push to hard at the gym the pain returns, so I take it easy till it goes away and the I go back at it again, it's just a annoying cycle . I had a a sternal non Union that was found 2 mths after surgery, but I had several ct scans in the months that followed and they said it was healing great. So who knows, but I will try the chiropractor for sure and maybe he will have answers. Hope things I improve for u too , can't imagine dealing with this forever

Robert Osmachenko I think you're right about taking it a bit easy. I've been finding that I am having better success by not exercising every day. Are you taking supplements for healing and your heart?
Always thinking about you, heart sister.
