Joey Hardee This is quite awesome, Beth. 12 minutes a mile walking is getting it done. I did what I thought was a fast walk with some short jogs thrown in and could only manage a 14 minute pace for a 5K. I'm 3 1/2 months post op and I am trying to get ready for a 5K (run) in late November. I'm not sure I am gonna make it but I am working on it. Very excited for you. You seem to be ahead of schedule and that is absolutely fantastic!!

Beth Allen Paola Gonnet Had my check up at cc almost 2 weeks ago. Valve functioning beautifully with a normal gradient and no regurgitation and ejection fraction is 70 percent. The waiting for it is the worst part and I too was so anxious. Once it was over, I took control of my recovery and was so happy to be on the other side! You will too! Good luck and prayers for a successful surgery and recovery!

My surgery was last Jan 10th, I feel great and I am very very happy, everything was smooth as silk, I am returning to CC next Feb 14 for my post surgery check up, I agree with you that The surgeons skill, nursing care and the heart centers expertise is second to none at the Cleveland Clinic. Are you taking baby aspirin and metoprolol ?

Beth Allen Paola Gonnet I cant wait for you to have the surgery behind you too! By far the worst part is the waiting and then the first day in ICU but my nurses cheered me on and encouraged me and I never looked back. I am doing so well at just 2 1-2 weeks post op. The surgeons skill, nursing care and the heart centers expertise is second to none at the Cleveland clinic. I am so grateful I was in their care. Can’t wait to hear about your success as well!

Beth Allen My husband led us in prayer and they all joined in. They asked me what music I would like in the OR and I requested praise music. When they wheeled me in the praise music was blasting. The circulating nurse then prayed over me as they prepped me in the OR. She did that on her own free will.
My husband knows the plant manager at Edwards Life Sciences in California where they make the valve. In April we are going to visit the plant and get a tour. My husband works in the medical device industry. My surgeon told me this valve is the Rolls Royce of valves!
