I had mitral valve surgery 6 weeks ago- robotic mitral valve repair & atrial septal aneurysm repaired and am still up 10lbs vs. my pre surgery weight. In total I gained almost 20 lbs post surgery but lost 10 of it. Still hanging onto the other 10 lbs. Am not responding well to the Lasix and kidney function seems fine. Not sure if I’ll ever lose the weight which is really disheartening.
Has anybody else experienced this? If so what worked for you? I am walking 20 minutes a day and eating fairly healthy…

Kevin Stevenson I had Mitral Valve repair done June 13th of this year at Cleveland Clinic. Robotic. I was 168 when I went into surgery and came out over 190. Holy water weight. I worked through mine by June 30th. So, two weeks... ish.

Pamela Gregory I gained 18lbs from surgery and like Kevin it took about 2 weeks for it to go away. I walked 20 mins 3x per day as advised. Not sure what you are allowed to do but they told me to get moving
