I was wondering if there are many here who have had the valve-in-valve TAVAR? My Medtronic Mosiac porcine valve 21 is considered pretty small and the surgeon told me that they would more than likely have to do a Bioprosthetic valve fracture on it to assure a new larger valve area. There are many professionals on the board to review my tests, etc, so I am comforted that the decisions made regarding my TAVAR will be optimal to allow the best outcome for me but am little nervous when I think about that.

Patsy Stewart I had a TAVR in 2020. To my understanding, when they do a TAVR, it crushes the old valve that it is replacing and fills in that space. I’m not really familiar with the valve you have, but it sounds like your team is working to get you fixed. Offering up prayers in your name. ~xx~❤️

Well, it’s 10 days out from my Heart Cath and TEE and tomorrow is the appointment with the surgeon from Rush. The radial artery in my wrist was used and my doctor told us afterwards that my stenosis was worse than expected. I guess I said that I’d rather have a margarita. Lol. The staff at Rush in Aurora, Illinois took very good care of me and kept my family informed. Thanks for all the encouragement.😀

Steven Methot What was it that Dorothy Parker said? "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy." I too would have preferred the margarita when I had my cath, but the light they shed is worth it in the end... and you can still have one or three margaritas!

Am having heart cath and TEE on Monday 11/21 @ Rush in Aurora, Illinois, then an appointment with Dr. Clifford Kavinski from Chicago Rush on December 2 to go over my options and tests. I expect to have other other tests prior to TAVR per my daughter who is a RN in the outpatient unit where I will be having procedures. (that is a comfort for me).
