Susan Lynn I left the hospital on several drugs including a beta blocker after mitral valve surgery - I think they were precautionary since I didn't have a diagnosis of hypertension. Some were discontinued in a week others months. This may just be a temporary response. Your heart has to acclimate to your valve. What is your cardiologist saying about it?

Marie Myers I Googled New Onset pulmonary hypertension after TAVR, but did not find any answers. I think that is a good question for your cardiologist.
Rachelle Booth Thanks Susan and Marie. I'll definitely ask about it. The cardiologist didnt seem worried.

Rich Hahn I assume they will go through the groin for TAVR, so be very careful about squatting down for the 1st couple of weeks. I caused some bleeding at the femoral artery and had some pain for several days while it rehealed.
I had TAVR 5 weeks ago and have no restrictions on what I can do. The procedure is similar to the stents, but a little more aggressive when they move the valve into place and expand it. Expect to get woke up several times the 1st night as they take your blood pressure, do a blood draw, take your temperature, and even weigh you, so you might ask them if there is a few hours you can get some sleep without being awakened.
Rachelle Booth Michelle. I’d love to speak with you too!

Rachelle Booth Thank You All! Yes, the ride to get here has been 8 years long and bumpy, but it's finally getting resolved, one way or the other. I'm looking forward to walking from the parking lot to the building at work and being able to breathe. Maybe even take the stairs sometimes. I'm really, in ,y heart of hearts, hoping I can maybe even get a lot more active and drop the weight that's crept on.
I'm looking forward to not wanting to sleep all the time.
I'm looking forward to giving a speech or having a discussion without feeling breathless.
I'm REALLY looking forward to just getting on with it!
