Hi Giselle, hope you are recovering without a lot of pain. I was in Cleveland yesterday and was going to visit you and Jill. But both of you were in intensive care and I didn't think I should come in there. Was so looking forward to meeting both of you. Let me know how it's going!!!

I'm sure your doctors have told you that your positive attitude and good physical condition are going to play heavily in your favor you'll be up and around in no time

I just got on the site and am researching everything for my upcoming surgery. I see that yours is today, but when you do get to see it I hope you know people were praying for you and wishing you well. I don't know when my surgery will be as I am meeting with my surgeon tomorrow after all the tests have been completed. I then want to get a second opinion so I don't know how long that takes to get another doctor to get my test results and check it all out. I hope that it doesn't take real long cause the anticipation is what I think is so hard right now - I literally just found out a month ago that I have an aortic problem and the valve needs replacing. So I'm just starting on my journey. I hope you will let us know how your surgery went and keep us posted of your progress. God bless!!

Just had aorta valve replaced tuned 7/18. Came home fri 7/21. Feel like a new person. No short of breath. A little energy and can walk without gasping for air. I'll be in clev July 28. If I can I'll stop to see you. Prayers are coming your way

Hi Giselle,Welcome to the site. I had my Valve replaced 11 weeks ago and feeling really good.. I am in rehab right now and upping the intensity every week.. its very nerve wrecking to think about surgery but, truly its doable.. its not easy as you will be weak in the first few weeks, but every day and week it gets better. Read my journal I have some posts on before and after.. If I can answer any questions, I would be happy to. BTW, I visited Mexico City a few years back, loved it.. its such a great and cultural city.. civita

Giselle, welcome! I too had my bicuspid aortic valve replaced. My surgery was in February 2017. My surgeon was Dr. Douglas Johnston at CC. He and his team are fabulous. I cannot say enough about my positive experience at CC, everyone is awesome, it really is patients first! I had a mini-thoracotomy and the Trifecta valve, a combination of porcine, bovine and titanium. Drove home to North Carolina a week after surgery. I started rehab a month after surgery. So far so good and feeling so much better. If I can be helpful in any way, please let me know. Stay strong!
