Hi there! I don't know how I missed that you were having surgery the same place I had mine. Dr. O is great, he's done 2 of my friends valves, and he was also in on my surgery by Dr. Rovin. Morgan Heart Hospital is fantastic, you'll have your own room. The nurses are AMAZING. The food is great, when I could finally stand the thought of eating food I ordered the cottage cheese and fruit plate nonstop, and had my husband bring me fajitas and french fries from the cafeteria. Plus, the nurses always have ice cream and pudding at their station. I hope you get Sister Christie, she'll make everything alright!

Hi Judy, i also had rheumatic fever at 14-15 yrs. old, and of course i ended up with an aortic valve insufficiency, which was only discovered when i was training for my first marathon at 57 yrs. old !!!! Where was my family doctor all these years, having gone for check ups every single year as it is customary. To feed more gasoline into the fire in the end it wasn't him who discovered it, it was me going in for a second opinion. Anyhow i am 69yrs old now and i have just had AVR 7 weeks ago and recovering decently, but.........OHS........is definitely not a walk in the park !!!!!! I wish you all the best.

Judy Freeman Pino thank you so much! Not only are we Heart Sisters but we are also rheumatic buddies. Living in Florida there's not a lot of RF down here so I always have to explain that we lived in Buffalo at the time. Good for you that it was discovered. Congrats on the AVR.
