Feeling good with no collocation.
I did visit the surgeon had the stitches remove got check out and everything is good. I did ask a few question which they were answer. He did informed me about the SALT , to try to avoided.
I also visit the cardiologist and did a few test one and find everything to be normal. He did recommend Cardio Rehab which I'm in favor for it but need to wait for the insurance approval in the mean time I'm walking and walking.

Lewis Garlisi Week 6. I agree with Pat - take advantage of it.

For those of you having the surgery you will have a pre-operation day. You will meet different people on this day ask all the questions you may have the medical people you will be meeting are very knowledgeable specially dealing with the anesthetic. By the way there a jelly to prevent soars on your throat but you have to ask for it. Later on it get removed with a suction stick like the dentist. I did requested and it was very helpful. On the day of the procedure you ask to everyone you meet their name what is their function and the time. It helps guide you thru the day. Ok just before the light goes out you can request to see the love ones even do you are at the happy state.
When you heard "timeout" don't talk well I kept talking and talking until they told me had to be quit in timeout. That was funny.

Yesterday I was release from the hospital. When home and of course I have to made some adjustments around the house. I did lease a lift chair or reclaimer which has be come hande. One big difference is the bed its to hight from the floor and is not easy getting off, you need to used your legs to swim your body.
One important comment due your legs exercise it helps. You are in a sitting position and you start to march leafting your right leg and then your left for a total of 20 times, the next exercise is having both feet together and needs spread your needs a parts. The last exercise is having your feet side by side flat on the floor and lift the back of the foot kepting the toe touching the floor as many as you can of course you are sitting. This clase they gave me explain blood clot develops in the legs that's why you need to to the exercise.
Hope helps any one.
Have a great day.

Hopefully the draing tubes and the rest of the cables comes out today. Medical team let me know I will be going home by the weekend. Haaaay.
I try tobe the less time in bed, mostly sitting and walking. I mostly take the pain education at night.
One good advised for others kept the door of your room closed it avoid lots of notice. The second advised request for the blood preasure and temperature., sugar test and aerosol to be done at the same time frame you will sleep more.
Current being monitor for retaining fluid, higher blood sugar and going to the bathroom.
Over all I feel great, by the way the tubes does not bother me at all only the incision on the side my right hand is a bit limited, but that ok, I have learn to used my legs.

Dan D. I am definitely confused about this "Miami method" of minimally invasive AVR. This seems like an alternative to OHS, yet I was told this was approved only for patients in poor health that could take OHS. Was that your situation, Ned? Can anyone else comment on the "Miami method" vs OHS?

Well today I feel like reality really hit me and I'm having this procedure done. It all start with a phone call from the surgeon's office giving me instructions starting with today. Need to show up at the hospital on Monday for the pre-op and on Tuesday at 5:00 AM. The show start at 7:00 AM.
I'm having minimum invasive aortic valve replacement (the "Miami Method") at Mount Sinai in Miami Beach by Dr. Lamelas. This procedure is when the incision is made by the right side between the 3rd and 4th rib. The best way to see it is to Google it the Miami Method.
I have been in the waiting room for 2 years. While waiting I was having test done every 6 months; this gave me the opportunity to read a lot of your post and learn from them. These post has a tremendous value to me and I image anyone who is traveling this road will agree with me.
I do wish well to everyone and my players are with all of YOU.

Pat Bluemel You won't experience intubation they do that when you are under and asleep. Many people worry about removal of the vent tube, you are usually too out of it to be aware of it. I worried about it for days leading up and really wish I hadn't looking back. The worst part for me? A sore throat for three days, that was it. I remember them saying "ok let's take that vent out" as I was waking up and that was it.

Tammy Pilcher Ned, my experience was a lot like Pat's. I vaguely remember waking and feeling the vent. As soon as I did, I heard a man say "Let's get that out". He told me to cough and he took it out. I don't remember seeing anyone or anything during this, just hearing him. I think I fell right back to sleep. I was so out of it. It was kind of like a dream, except I know it was real. My doctor told me I got off the vent faster than anyone he had seen. It was only 45 minutes after surgery when they took it out. Even though this is my memory of this event, my doctor said I woke up fast and alert.

Jim Hernandez Like Pat and Tammy, for me the removal of breathing tubes was A LOT less than I ever expected. I do remember being woken up for it, but definitely dazed. It only seemed like it took a few seconds and don't recall gagging or coughing at all. i also feel it's also on the nurse and doctor whom have great experience in taking them out as to how well you do, talking you thru it and their methods. I'm sure it's all the same but how I like to think of it 😊

Guy Blachman My ventilator experience was by far the worst part of OHS. My surgery was done late so by the time I was done it was night and the shift was about to change so they decided to leave me on the tube overnight with sedation, and by 4 AM i was wide awake gagging and choking on it, writing notes to the nurses begging to have it removed. 3 hours of torture later (they were "too busy" to remove me earlier) they removed it, I was never so angry in my life and yelled at the ICU shift staff. They were surprised I had so much energy to yell at them. I had nothing to do but file a complaint with the hospital
