My bicuspid turned out to be a unicuspid, and like you and Sean I also had my ascending aorta repaired. My 9" scar is barely visible... though I wouldn't have believed it would have been judging by the way it looked immediately after surgery.
My advice: Just follow the protocol, hit the pain button every 6 or 7 minutes, don't be a hero, keep your sense of humor and if you don't like your step-down nurse (I didn't, at first) speak up to Svensson's nurse practitioner and you'll be assigned somebody great. ... Read more
