Peter Bergan almost 8 months -- fat baby syndrome; he's a good eater and sleeper. Watching him have an echocardiogram was the scariest thing so far. Thankfully, they did not find any indication that he has any stenosis or any other heart disease. He let out a big fart at the end of the procedure to lighten the mood in the exam room.

Peter Bergan Yes; its amazing to me that I was generally asymptomatic the few months before surgery.

Michael Shaughnessy Beautiful family Peter. I have three beautiful kids and that was my motivation as well. The Medtronic Freestyle tissue valve has some of the best hemodynamics for younger patients. Left ventricular function is protected and often improved because of better transvalvular flow. I don't know which tissue valve you are getting, but ask about this one. Long term stroke and bleed risk statistically lower than mechanical. Everyone has their own choice to make. 4 years out and I could definitely go through it again. I live in Solon, let me know if I can help in any way.

Tom Mcinerney Hi Peter, I live in Lakewood had valve surgery June 22 at the clinic and am doing fine. Now I'm going to Fairview for rehab and will be looking forward to seeing you there soon. Also walk as much as you can ,Rocky River park is a nice place to start. Remember baby steps. Good luck and keep in touch Tom.
